soudain, tu etait parti
je ne peux pas te trouver ici
regarde la-bas aussi
soudain, tu etait parti

meet me at the castle
and ascertain
that the request has decreased
and take her name in vain
'cause she looks quite old
from your point of view
and she realizes
ev'ry single word you spoke
word you spoke
word you spoke
ev'ry single
tease me with your presence
and pass me by
so I'm hiding in the hallways
between supermarket wares
I meandered a while
being humbled all the time
but among my peers
no one really cares
really cares
really cares
among my peers
let the storm arise
to destroy the spite
the backbiting and humiliation
underhandedness and indifference
entrain it all
bursting sheet pile walls
you can change it all
you can change at once
cheer up and rise
raise your inner voice
your inner voice
bursting sheet pile walls
bursting sheet pile walls...

when you saw me standing next to the headframe
prima facie I could have been the trainee
and two years passed
tough negotiations - spare contact
would you join me to an art exhibition tonight?
have you ever watched the movie - into the wild?
an exciting journey began
ev’rything changed - it changed ev’rything
now you walk barefoot along the towpath
behind you the blue river, dark clouds and tall grass
and you like my tanned arms
and I long for your eyes
our hearts go haywire
fortune on fire
we were torn between thunderstorms and blossom rain
stick paper pegs - on a wind engine
cast anchor and stagger in the tides
unsecurity on both sides
we run through highs and lows
on the same road
(with) a resembling approach - in aim and note
now you walk barefoot along the towpath
behind you the blue river, dark clouds and tall grass
and you like my tanned arms
and I long for your eyes
our hearts go haywire
fortune on fire
now we walk hand in hand along the towpath
behind us the cloth mill, the old church and our marriage
and we know all of our hopes
know all the anxieties
our hearts go haywire
fortune on fire

stumbling through the dull routine – of ev’ry day life
while the crocuses are already gone
bands of cloud are wand’ring through the blue sky
and there is so much to be done
when did you get up early in the night?
to drive by car – two hours to the coastline
and listen to a flock of birds as it takes up to the skies
and watch the sun as it rises
but ev’ry night you set the alarm for 6 a.m.
to bring yourself to get up out of bed
while hasting through this grey and rough suburb
and drag yourself to do – some stupid kind of work
bustling through the great dullness - of workaday life
while the foliage is already done
bands of cloud are roaming through the dark sky
and you are always on the run
when did you get up early in the night?
to drive by car – two hours to the coastline
and listen to a flock of birds as it takes up to the skies
and watch the sun as it rises
but ev’ry night you set the alarm for 6 a.m.
to bring yourself to get up out of bed
while hasting through this grey and rough suburb
and drag yourself to do – some stupid kind of work
well, ev’ry time I hate the alarm at 6 a.m.
but I bring myself – to get up out of bed
and struggle through this daily grind – step by step
and drag myself to fight – until I’ll be dead
